Được truyền hình trực tiếp trên kênh Star Movies và YouTube, lễ công bố đề cử giải thưởng điện ảnh Oscar lần thứ 87 diễn ra tối 15/1 đã thu hút sự quan tâm của đông đảo khán giả và giới chuyên môn.
Ngoài ra, ở hạng mục diễn viên, danh sách các đề cử được công bố cũng xuất hiện một số cái tên nhận được sự chú ý của dư luận trong thời gian gần đây như Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike hay Reese Witherspoon.
