Danh sách đề cử của giải thưởng Oscar lần thứ 88 đã được công bố tối 14/1 (giờ Việt Nam) thông qua một cuộc họp báo diễn ra tại rạp hát Samuel Goldwyn của Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học và Nghệ thuật Điện ảnh ở Beverly Hills.
Chủ tịch của Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học và Nghệ thuật Điện ảnh – Cheryl Boone Isaacs, đạo diễn Guillermo Del Toro, Ang Lee và John Krasinki đã lần lượt công bố các diễn viên, nhà quay phim, đạo diễn, biên kịch, nghệ sĩ trang điểm, nhạc sĩ, nhà sản xuất, nhà biên tập âm thanh, đồ họa kỹ xảo được vinh danh tại lễ trao giải năm nay.
Với kịch bản lôi cuốn, hấp dẫn, những cảnh quay đẹp mắt, chân thực và diễn xuất khó có điểm nào để chê của Leonardo, The Revenant được dự đoán sẽ đại thắng Oscar 2016.
